Farmers for Justice Celebrates One Year Online!!
(June 1, 2003 - FFJ) June 2003 marked the first
year for the Farmers for Justice website.
In 2002, from June to October 30th, our site was growing in numbers and
readership from month to month. By mid-September we had the media
following its updates: The Globe and Mail, The National Post and a number
of major USA papers wanted to be notified when new information was released.
We were pleased.
When the Farmers for Justice Farmers went to jail on October 31st in
Lethbridge, Alberta over Canadian Wheat Board issues and principles --
things changed overnight!!
Within two weeks the CFFJ website was being "hit" throughout
the world... Japan, Greece, the Republic of Czechoslovakia, Russia,
Thailand, Brazil, Ital, Austria, Chile, Pakistan, Australia and the United
States - people around the world logged in (and still do) daily to follow
our cause.
In November alone the site had over 77,000 visitors, and be the end of
2002 sat at more than 100,000 hits.
This site has stayed with facts that are documented and could be
proven. The target is the Canadian Wheat Board, our mission to give our
own Canadian farmers, the urban population and the rest of the world the
"other side of the story." The real issues that have been
brewing since the monopoly of the CWB started. (Another "War
Act Measure" brought to you by the Federal government!)
This site has grown very quickly because of view reactions.
You've asked for proof, we've shown that to you. The proof led to more
questions, and greater public opinion, and we've pledged to provide you
with factual knowledge.
The information is the truth, and the people that have helped bring
that truth to light have been farmers. It's to our benefit as
producers of the grain that CWB deals with to know the whole story.
Appreciative comments have been given to those involved with this site,
but all of us at CFFJ realize that our success of this site is due to our
webmaster, Karla "Peanut" Folstad, and to the media, and to our
viewers. (Webmaster, thank you for an easy web site, a site
that's understandable, and fills in the "gaps" - your bosses
appreciate you!) |
